Decided to stop here on a Sunday as we were in the area on the cycle. Usually, we are here on Fridays for their fantastic cod dinners. Well, now I will have to make it a point to go on Sundays when I have a taste for the "BEST" turkey dinner I've ever eaten (other than my own). For the reasonable price of $ 9.99, I was served a healthy portion of tender, moist turkey with "REAL" mashed potatoes, moist & perfectly seasoned stuffing. Delicious gravy topped everything except the corn. Texas toast was also included. Oh, BTW, you get your choice of soup or salad too. Of course, I didn't eat everything but I certainly had more than enough for lunch today. As I told my hubby, "If you think I'm going to cook turkey w/the fixins' you are mistaken. We will eat @ Bobberdown for any turkey holiday." So, just typing this has got me hungry for turkey but I'll wait a few weeks as I don't want to be a total glutton !!

Sadly, Bobber Down was sold and my 5 stars have dwindled to 3 at the very best. The quality in food feels like it has changed , they have replaced the waitstaff with ladies who have yet to get our orders right,( how do you consistently forget to bring salad dressing?). We gave it several tries after the change , but it feels like more attention is being paid in prettying up the place than in maintaining a quality, tasty place to eat .

I stopped on the way home and I am so glad The staff is great especially Nicole the waitress. The regulars were very nice and even introduced me to the owner. It feltlike I was in Cheers! Prices were great. Many TV, darts etc

They have awesome hamburgers and their taco salad is the bomb. The staff is very friendly and place is beautiful too.

The food used to be pretty good, until the new owners fired the chef & stepped up one of their cooks as chef at the beginning of this year. Every fish or meat dish I ordered since (including the specials) was overcooked, but the real kicker was when the owners told me not to send any more food back, like it was my fault. My recommendation: Don't bother, instead just go up the street to Captain Joe's (or even Whitmore Lake Tavern). The food is a couple dollars more, but worth it, and the service is always excellent. The ambiance is much better, too.

I don't know if I would consider this place a "dive bar". It is always clean with a larger area just for eating. This is a locals bar though. Always a crowd of local men here no matter the time of day. The bartenders know all the regulars names and there is a feeling of small town hospitality when you walk in. The food has larger portions with great prices. I also would not classify the food as "bar food", more like homestyle meals. There are always different specials and I believe I have always selected my meals from the specials list. The garlic encrusted cod was great. It came with three large filets, served over a serving of home made mac and cheese. Now I will admit the mac and cheese was not the best ever. It could have used a little more flavor to it. My husband got the stuffed shells and ate every bit. The service is always great. They come quickly to the table and are very attentive to your needs. This locals favorite is a great place to stop for a quick, cheap meal, or a few drinks.

Stopped in the other day after moving and new to the area wanted to try the closest place. Burger was on point. Cooked perfectly, hot and fresh. Soup was homemade, not can to pan or boil in bag. Service was prompt. This looks to be the "I don't want to cook" go to spot for me in the area.

We enjoyed this place and the service was good also. The day we happened to go in, there was a couple of "big parties" (after sports event) there so the waitresses were a lil overwhelmed it seemed. But it was still a good experience. Food was good & prices fair we would go back again.

Sorry. It may be classified as one of the greatest spots to eat in Whitmore Lake, but keep in mind, there are only a few options to choose from. I had a Groupon, so my husband and I thought we would give it a try. From the outside it looks like a complete dive bar, and well, it kind of is. I got there before my husband. A nice waitress asked me what I would like to drink. Given it is AN ESTABLISHMENT THAT SERVES ALCOHOL I ordered a glass of pinot grigio. The waitress looked extremely confused by my request, but brought me a glass of wine. I didn't get pinot grigio. I think I got riesling. It was really sweet. Oh well... Given it was a Friday I ordered the fish special. My husband had a ham sandwich. Given it was a dive bar I really thought the food would be great, but unfortunately that was not the case. The plate of fried fish was HUGE. There were three big pieces served over a large serving of fries. I had to ask the waitress to bring me another plate so I could cut the fish. The fish... it was BAD. Boney doesn't begin to describe it. Do they get it from Whitmore Lake? I could only eat a half piece. The fries were ok. The coleslaw was mediocre, at best. The waitress asked if I wanted a box for the fish. I almost said yes, but then thought "Why even bother. I'm going to toss it as soon as I get home." So I politely declined. I hate throwing away so much food, but I couldn't fathom to eat any more. My husband's ham sandwich was alright. It's hard to mess up a ham sandwich, but it really didn't look appetizing. I've read reviews that said this places' chips were outstanding. I had a few that came with my husbands' sandwich and thought they were bland and not so great. Maybe I eat too many Better Made chips, but I would pass on these.... One of the things that also frustrated me about this restaurant was the waitress. I told her in the beginning that I had a Groupon and she was cool with that. When it came time to pay the balance, she was extremely rude. I'm presuming she thought I would pay a tip based on the balance of the bill ($17). And that is unfortunate. I hope no one would do that. Without the Groupon the bill game to $42 and despite her rudeness, that is what I paid the tip on. I hope the good people of greater Whitmore Lake would realize they should do the same. Or maybe the management of the Bobberdown Grill needs to educate their staff on etiquette. We left about 6:30 and there was a line waiting for our table. I'm not sure why, but again, there aren't many places to eat in Whitmore Lake.

Wow! Our first time here, even though we've lived in the area for years. The food was pretty good- we had burgers and the fish sandwich, both were excellent. Skip the sweet potato fries, the homemade chips were better. We think our server was new, she was slightly overwhelmed and kept forgetting to check in with us but she was super nice. The live music was from the Daniree Duo and was awesome! The restaurant is bright and clean (bathroom was very clean too!) inside. If you've never been there, give it a try, I'm glad we did!

Surprisingly this little dive looking bar has really good food. Not much of a view because there are no windows but who cares about that we came for food lol

For an unassuming little wooden building off Rt. 23, this little restaurant is great for a quick lunch stop. My two colleagues and I were on our way from DTW to Saginaw on a business trip and looking for a place to grab a bite. The sandwiches (grilled chicken and chicken fajita roll-up) were delicious and came out quickly. You definitely can't argue with the prices! And, best of all, they serve house-made potato chips!

The USDA Grilled 12 oz. Rib-Eye was scrumptious and grilled to perfection. Bell's Two Hearted Ale served on tap was also a great addition to the meal. The restaurant was packed at 8PM on a Tuesday night. Very lively place, great for families as well.

food was on the icky end of bar food. service sucked and we were one of 3 tables. Also the ambiance was lacking.. not cozy or comfortable at all. I'll take the tavern or capt joes over this place any day.

The food is very good! The atmosphere is very family oriented. We will definitely be back, and highly recommend others to visit.

First time visitor to Bobber down last week. I expected a rather "rough" looking environment. I was surprised to find a neat, clean, and friendly atmosphere. We started with drinks and calamari. The calamari was a bit different, thicker than I've had before. I actually liked it, though my wife did not. The clam chowder was homemade and very tasty! I had the garlic encrusted cod, which was excellent! My wife had a steak that was done perfectly. All of the sides were equally good. The desert, homemade cheesecake's (peanut butter & vanilla almond) were PHENOMENAL!!!! Service was very excellent as well. This is a place I'd certainly go back to!
